A selection of images from a photographic study of Space Shuttle Discovery on display at the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia just outside of Washington, DC. The Smithsonian requested that Discovery be turned over for display as the "vehicle of record" with as few changes as possible from its operational days and last flight into space. Some notable changes: "NASA retained Discovery's reusable main engines for future use and removed its orbital maneuvering systems engines because they were contaminated by toxic propellants. Two of the engine nozzles....are unflown engineering test units, but the one on the lower right flew 14 times."
