A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 60 Starlink satellites into orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 10:59 p.m. on 15 February 2021. Following stage separation SpaceX attempted to land Falcon 9’s first stage on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship located in the Atlantic Ocean but the rocket suffered an anomaly causing it to crash into the water near the droneship. The second stage successfully delivered the Starlink satellites into orbit.

Falcon 9’s first stage booster previously supported launch of SpaceX’s 19th and 20th cargo resupply missions to the International Space Station, the Starlink 8 mission, the SAOCOM 1B mission, and NROL-108.

The Starlink satellites will eventually form a constellation around the Earth providing global satellite-based internet access.
