Starlink 12-20 (Falcon 9) 2 March 2025 |
Space Launch Complex 40 Cape Canaveral Space Force Station |
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 21 Starlink satellites, including 13 with Direct to Cell capabilities, to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 9:24 p.m. on 2 March 2025. Following stage separation, Falcon 9's first stage landed on the Just Read the Instructions droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. After landing, a fire in the aft end of the booster damaged one of the landing legs causing the booster to tip over leading to the loss of the booster. This is the fifth flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched GOES-U, Maxar 3, and two Starlink missions. |
