Space Launch Complex 40 Cape Canaveral Space Force Station |
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the Eutelsat HOTBIRD-13G mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 1:22 a.m. on 3 November 2022. After stage separation, the first stage landed on the Just Read the Instructions droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched CRS-22, Crew-3, Turksat 5B, Crew-4, CRS-25, and one Starlink mission. |

|
Eutelsat has procured two new large satellites from Airbus Defence and Space to replace the three existing satellites at its HOTBIRD flagship neighbourhood. The HOTBIRD family at 13° East forms one of the largest broadcasting systems in Europe, delivering 1,000 television channels to more than 160 million TV homes in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. HOTBIRD 13F was launched in October 2022 and 13G is scheduled for November 2022. |

| Two Hotbird telecommunications satellites were sold in November 2018 by manufacturer Airbus to satellite operator Eutelsat. They were created as part of the Eurostar Neo product line developed under an ESA Partnership Project. The programme aims to support European industry to deliver competitive satellites to the commercial market. | |
