THE NEIGHBORS

The nest was not visited today in favor of traveling around areas of the Refuge not frequented since the nesting began. Here an Osprey passes the observation tower at the end of the Centennial Trail as it flies over the Indian River Lagoon.
Traveling around the two mosquito impoundments, Pete's and Bird's, revealed their secluded waters are alive with Osprey perched in the mangroves or soaring overhead.
A happy surprise was finding Roseate Spoonbills in both impoundments. The white bird with the Spoonbills is a Snowy Egret.
